Scrapr (hereinafter referred to as "Scrapr," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is dedicated to safeguarding it in compliance with our privacy policies. This policy outlines:

This policy solely pertains to the information Scrapr gathers through its Services, including email, text, and other electronic communications sent through or in association with its Services.
This policy does not extend to information provided to, or gathered by, any third-party entities, such as Scrapr Partner where scrap pick up/or payments are processed via Scrapr's Services, and social networks utilized in conjunction with Scrapr's Services. Scrapr advises consulting directly with such third-parties regarding their privacy practices.
Please carefully review this policy to understand Scrapr's guidelines and practices concerning your information and how it will be handled. By accessing or using Scrapr's Services and/or registering for an account with Scrapr, you consent to this privacy policy and agree to Scrapr's collection, usage, disclosure, retention, and protection of your personal information as outlined herein. Failure to provide the required information may result in Scrapr being unable to offer all of its Services to you.
Your data controller is responsible for adhering to its privacy standards and applicable national laws concerning the collection, usage, disclosure, retention, and protection of your personal information. The data controller may transfer data to other members of Scrapr as described in this Privacy Policy. Scrapr may process and retain your personal information on its servers in India, where its data centres are located, and/or on servers of third parties (inside or outside India) with whom Scrapr has contractual relationships.
This policy may undergo revisions periodically. Your continued usage of Scrapr's Services after any modifications constitute acceptance of those changes. Therefore, please review the policy periodically for updates.
Information Collection and Usage
Scrapr ("Scrapr," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects various types of information from users of our Services, including:
  • Personal Information refers to data associated with a specific individual that could be used to identify that individual. We do not consider personal information to include data that has been anonymized or aggregated in a manner that prevents identification of a specific person.
  • Information about your internet connection, devices used to access our Services, and usage details.

Your profile picture may be publicly displayed as part of your account profile. You may optionally provide this information through third-party sign-in services like Facebook and Google Plus, in which case, we fetch and store the information made available to us by you through these services.
  • Preferences: Your preferences and settings, such as time zone and language
  • Content: Information provided through our Services, including reviews, photographs, comments, lists, followers, pick-up request details, preferred Scrapr partner, special requests, contact information of individuals added to or notified of your scrap pick-up request through our Services, and other details in your account profile.
  • Searches and Other Activities: Search terms used and results selected.
  • Browsing Information: Duration of use of our Services and features used; advertisements clicked on.
  • Communications: Correspondence between you and other users or merchants through our Services; participation in surveys, polls, sweepstakes, contests, or promotions; requests for features (e.g., newsletters, updates, or other products); communication regarding employment opportunities posted to the Services.
  • Transactional Information: If pick up requests or any kind of purchases are made through our Services, we may collect and store information to process your requests and auto-complete forms for future transactions, including phone number, address, email, billing information, and credit or payment card information. This information may be shared with third parties assisting in processing and fulfilling your requests, including PCI compliant payment gateway processors. Credit or payment card information submitted is encrypted using industry-standard technologies, as further described below under "Payment Card Information." If reviews are written about businesses with which transactions are conducted through our Services, we may publicly display information regarding those transactions.
  • Public Posts: You may provide information (such as ratings, reviews, tips, photos, comments, likes, bookmarks, friends, lists, etc.) to be published or displayed on publicly accessible areas of our Services or transmitted to other users or third parties. Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. While access to certain pages may be limited, you can set privacy settings for such information by logging into your account profile. However, please note that no security measures are infallible (refer to the "Security" section below). Furthermore, we cannot control the actions of other users with whom you choose to share your User Contributions. Hence, we cannot guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized individuals. This information may be displayed on the Services, shared with businesses, and further distributed to a broader audience through third-party sites and services. Exercise caution when revealing sensitive details about yourself in such postings.
We utilize the information you provide to enhance functionality, improve the quality of our Services, personalize your experience, display relevant advertising, provide support, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations.
Information about Your Friends:
You have the option to invite your friends to join Scrapr's Services by providing their contact information. If you invite a friend to join and connect with you on our Services, we will only use your friend's contact information to process your request.
Information about Your Messages:
If you exchange messages with others through the Scrapr app, we may store them to facilitate processing and delivery, allow you to manage them, and investigate possible violations of our Terms of Service and misconduct related to the app. If you send information from the app to your mobile device via SMS text message, we may log your phone number, phone carrier, and the date and time when the message was processed. Carriers may impose charges on recipients for received texts.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies:
We may automatically gather certain information about the computers or devices (including mobile devices) you use to access the Scrapr app and about your app usage, even if you use the app without registering or logging in.
This information may include:
  • Usage information: Details of your app usage, including traffic data, location data, logs, communication data, and the resources accessed and used through the app
  • Computer and device information: Information about your computer, Internet connection, and mobile device, such as IP address, operating systems, platforms, browser type, browsing information, device type, unique device identifier, mobile network information, and device telephone number.
  • Stored information and files: Metadata and other information associated with files stored on your mobile device, such as photographs, audio and video clips, personal contacts, and address book information.
  • Location information: Real-time device location information, as permitted by you.
  • Last URL visited: The URL of the last web page visited before accessing our app.
  • Mobile device IDs: Unique mobile device identifiers (e.g., IDFA or other device IDs on Apple devices) may be used to recognize you on mobile devices instead of cookies. These identifiers help us store preferences and track app usage. Unlike cookies, mobile device IDs cannot be deleted. Advertising companies may use device IDs to track app usage, measure advertising performance, and display relevant ads. Analytics companies may use device IDs to track app usage.
  • Your preferences: Your settings and preferences, such as time zone and language.
  • Your activity on the app: Information about your activity on the app, such as search queries, comments, domain names, selected search results, clicks, pages viewed, duration of app usage, date and time of app usage, error logs, and similar information.
  • Mobile status: For mobile app users, the online or offline status of the app.
  • Applications: Information about other applications on your mobile device. This helps us understand your preferences better and provide a personalized experience.
Precise Location Information and Opt-Out Options:
When using location-enabled services within the Scrapr app, such as accessing the app from a mobile device, we may collect and process your device's GPS location information and the time when the location is recorded to customize the app with location-based features, such as informing you about nearby Scrapr partners or promotions. This data may be associated with your device ID and other information we have about you. We retain this data for as long as necessary to provide services to you. If you wish to use such features, you will be asked to consent to the use of your data for this purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time by disabling GPS or other location-tracking functions on your device, if supported. Refer to your device manufacturer's instructions for further details.
Cookies and Other Electronic Tools: Scrapr and our partners may use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, mobile device IDs, and similar technologies to collect and store information regarding your app usage and interactions with third-party websites. Cookies are small text files stored on your computer that enable us to recognize you, store preferences, deliver tailored content and ads, conduct research and analytics, track app usage, and assist with security and administrative functions. Most browsers allow cookies by default, but you may be able to disable some or all cookies through your device or browser settings, though this may affect certain app functionality. Flash cookies operate differently and cannot be removed or blocked via browser settings. By using the Scrapr app with cookies enabled, you consent to our use of cookies as described herein. Third-party partners offering products or services accessible or advertised through the Scrapr app, including social media services, may also use cookies or similar tools. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies for details on their cookies and practices, as we do not control their practices.
Information from Third Parties: When you use social media accounts (such as Facebook or Google) to sign in or connect with the Scrapr app, we may collect, process, and store your user ID associated with those accounts. By signing in with your social media account or connecting it to the Scrapr app, you consent to us collecting and using the information available through the social media interface, including any publicly available information or information shared during the sign-in process. We may also receive information about you from third parties such as partners, marketers, third-party websites, and researchers. This information may be combined with the information we collect from you directly.

Payment Card Information:
To use certain features of the Scrapr app, payments to avail any specific service or buy ecofriendly products, we may require credit or debit card information. Analytics and Tailored Advertising:
We use third-party web analytics and allow tailored advertising through the Scrapr app. You may opt out of tailored advertising through the provided mechanisms.

By signing up for an account, you agree to receive emails from Scrapr partners and Scrapr itself. You can manage your email preferences within your account settings.

If you wish to review, change, or delete personal information collected by Scrapr or permanently delete your account, please raise your request on the "Contact Us" link available at the bottom of every page.
Please note that even if you delete your User Contributions from Scrapr, copies of your contributions may remain viewable in cached or archived pages or may have been copied or stored by other users. The access and use of information, including User Contributions, are governed by Scrapr's Terms of Use.
Accessing & Correcting Your Personal Information:
We are committed to accurately recording the personal information you provide to us and any subsequent updates. You are encouraged to review, update, and correct the personal information maintained by Scrapr. You may also request the deletion of inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant personal information or information processed in a manner that violates applicable legal requirements or legitimate purposes.
Your right to review, update, correct, and delete your personal information may be subject to limitations imposed by the law of your jurisdiction or Scrapr's records retention policies. Additionally, we may deny such requests if they are abusive, unreasonably excessive, or if honouring them would encroach upon the rights or safety of others.
Security:
How We Protect Your Information: Scrapr has implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard your information and prevent unauthorized access. We adhere to industry standards to protect personal information during transmission and storage. Our third-party service providers involved in payment processing comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
While we strive to maintain data security, we assume no liability for disclosure due to transmission errors, unauthorized access, or other causes beyond our control. You play a vital role in securing your personal information by not sharing your username, password, or other security details with anyone.
Permissible Age:
Scrapr services are not intended for users under the age of 13 unless permitted by applicable local laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from or market to individuals below the Permissible Age. If we become aware of such information, we will promptly delete the account and associated data.
